"In her final years, she read to the grandchildren of children she'd read to when I was small." This is amazing! Sixty years. What a beautiful footnote to a life.

I am *THRILLED* to hear that you, the author, will be performing this audiobook. I'm going to read it both with eyes and with ears.

I think this is my favorite post (ever), 🙂. I’m awed by the fact that your mom read story hour over @60 years, and just your connection with books, reading, and their manifestation and presentation in our lifetime, your work at LOC and Old Wives Tales. All so special. I feel so fortunate to know you. ❤️

Now that I have the actual copy in my hands I am reading it (again). What is better than reading on a train? And I am crying (again) as I move through your tender and insightful prose.

I can’t wait to read your memoir! Will try to go with the indie bookstore route but happy it is available in many ways!

I have a Kindle copy -- yes, I know, evil amazon. I keep waiting for bookshop.org to fulfill their promise to have e-version availability by the end of this year. I hope they come out with that soon.

Hi Jen, I already have a copy, and am enjoying it so much. I had thought from reading your substack posts that Stumbling Blocks would focus on your father and his generation. I've been delighted to discover that you are also writing about your own childhood, as you are figure out the world, with a survivor parent. It's a fascinating read.

Thanks so much, Ruth! I had no idea that they'd be shipping books already.
